Pole Barn Kits

Pole Barn Kits

When you need on-site storage, the best solution is a pole barn. They have been used for agricultural storage for millennia, and have started branching into other areas. The only question is which pole barn kits are for you.

There are a lot of pole barn kits available. When it comes down to it, most kits are either wooden or metal, and are either simple or complex. Deciding between simple and complex is easy. Simple pole barn kits are for those that have are not sure of their abilities, or just starting to learn about craftsmanship. If you just have an afternoon, simple pole barn kits are for you. Simple pole barn kits are also good for cub scout projects, where the idea is to get some experience building something and where the something doesn’t need to be complex.

The more complex pole barn kits, however, are good for when you need the structure to stand longer, or when you need something more customized than the standard kits. Complex pole barn kits are also good for boy scout projects, when the boys need more advanced projects than when they were younger. Complex pole barn kits are also good for when you have the weekend (or longer) to do it, as they require more work.

Most pole barn kits are metal. This is because metal pole barn kits last longer, are able to deal with more environmental issues than their wooden counterparts, and are easier to maintain. If you need to build it and forget about it, or need it to last a long time, metal pole barn kits are probably your best answer. Also, if there will be a lot of moisture in the area (such as areas where there is a lot of fog or heavy rains), metal pole barn kits may be able to deal with your problems.

On the other hand, wooden pole barn kits have their advantages. Some people just prefer wood, as they like its feel and appearance. Also, wood isn’t as conducive as metal, making it good for situations where heat and electricity are problems (where thunderstorm are common, wood and metal are used interchangeably, as they tend to have pluses and minuses in those areas). Wooden pole barn kits also tend to be cheaper, which is a consideration in some situations, and can be modified easier than metal. Also, wooden pole barn kits are great for scout projects (besides being cheap, they are also more apropos for carpentry projects).
